Nokia might be owned by Microsoft now but this classic design goes right back to their mobile phone making roots.
Up to date improvements include a splashproof sealed keypad and improved QQVGA Screen. The 1.8 inch LCD screen is a big leap forward from the previous TFT screens and offers bright and crisp colours, even in strong daylight. The pixel density of 114 pixels per inch is more than sufficient for this size screen.
The classic menu, controlled by the 4-way navigation key, remains as familiar as ever ensuring this phone is easy to operate for young and old.
This is a simple to use talk and text handset, and while there are few bells and whistles you can enjoy the built in FM radio, which you can listen to through your favourite headset thanks to the 3.5mm headphone socket.
You also get a full productivity system in the form of the PIM - Personal information Manager. This includes a calendar, converter, calculator, expense manager, alarm clock, reminders and 500-name phone book.
Our summary
The Nokia 106 is the latest version of an old classic design and the improved screen and familiar keypad and menu system mean it is as enjoyable to use as Nokia phones have ever been. If you're looking for a simple and straightforward but stylish handset you will struggle to find better than this.
Standby up to 35 days (no, that's not a misprint!)
Talk time up to 10 hours.
Size: 113 x 48 x 15 mm
Weight: 74 grams.
Please note this phone does not have access to the internet
